I want to talk about language of the book. I find the language very easy to understand. Meanings of the words are given in the end of the pages. It helped me sometimes. Readers always want to go on reading, because chapter endings aren't like an ending. The action never stops. Language of main plot and the stories in the past are different. Elya Yelnat's story and Kissing Kate Barlow's story are told like a tale and the main plot are told different.
We learned Zero's and Warden's real names in the end of the book. If they have no nicknames, we could guess the end of the story and it would make the story less exciting. Reader surprises after learning who are Zero and Wardan in reality. The other funny nicknames are also makes the book more exciting. Stanley's no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather is a very exciting and strange nickname. Reader learns everything are interconnected.
I think the author wanted to teach the life to teenagers with many different topics: thirsty, crime, friendship, family, racism, destiny, bad luck, working hard... Also he wanted to write a book which everyone can read without being bored. I thank you Louis Sachar.
